Classes in more detail:

1 WEEK FIGURATIVE SCULPTURE CLASS
16th - 20th SEPT 2019 10am-2.30pm
£330.00 to include tuition, materials, equipment & model.
Seated Pose.
We welcome back the lovely model Julian Lewis to model for this whole week of figurative sculpture.
During this class we will be creating a 1/3 life size figure in clay using traditional sculpting techniques of measuring with callipers and working by eye to try and get an accurate representation of the figure.

I provide all the equipment required and costs include the model and a bag of air drying clay.  We use air drying clay which means your sculpt can dry and be painted to look like bronze.  This avoids the costs of moulding and casting your piece for students who are beginners and want to try the process.  However we can provide moulding and casting at an additional cost if you are interested.

Once your piece is completed it will need a couple of months to slowly dry to minimise any cracking and then you can either paint it at home with instructions I can provide, or you will be given the opportunity to come back to the Studio for a finishing course which costs approx £60.00

During the course tea, coffee and biscuits are provided and students either bring lunch with them or pop across the road to the lovely Lavender Bakehouse for a real treat.  If anyone is travelling from a distance there are lovely B&B's and Hotels that I can recommend in the area.

Please email if you have any queries regarding the course.

‘I thought the weekend was fantastic - I've ordered more clay and was able to buy the stone slabs that I thought were useful to put the finished sculpture onto.  She is proudly sitting in the Studio.’
